and they refuseto givethe smallest kindness (i.e., assistance)
And they deny [the] small kindnesses.
and, withal, deny all assistance [to their fellow-men]
Yet refuse small kindnesses
But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs
and refuse to give ˹even the simplest˺ aid.
and withhold assistance to others.
Who are uncharitable even over very small things
And withhold the necessaries of life
yet they repulse giving the assistance.
while they hold back contributions.
and they refuge (to share) small kindnesses.
yet refuse small kindnesses
And withhold small acts of kindness.
And withhold the assistance
and (also) reject (and refuse) Al-Ma‘un (small, routine requests from people around them)
and refuse to share the necessities of life
And (refuse and) prevent (small) kindnesses
and refuse to help the needy
and refuse (to give even) small gifts
And, with all this, they put dams before the Spring of Sustenance. ('Ma'n' = Running water. 'Mu'in' = Source of sustenance with plenty of fresh water springs. (23:50))
And they hold back even minor favors
But refuse (to offer even) the neighborly needs
And withhold [simple] assistance
And they deter from helping others
and forbid common kindnesses
And who withholds even common necessaries
And withhold things of common use (from others)
and deny help to others.
Yet deny all assistance (to their fellowmen)
but deny aid
Yet withhold small kindnesses (or necessaries)
and withhold the small kindnesses.
But refuse to do even neighborly deeds
and even stop doing small kindnesses
and deny people the articles of common necessity
And they withhold from any assistance.
And refuse to give even trifling things to others
And refuse to give articles of use.
And they forbid charity
and prevent the utensils of assistance
And refrain from acts of kindness
And they prevent/stop the charity
The hypocrites may spend a lot of money to be known as charitable people, but they refuse to engage in small kindnesses (say Hi to the doorman, smile to their low level employees, buy a burger to the hungry man in the street, etc. etc. etc.
And do not let others ask for small utilities
And withhold legal alms
And who refuse to lend a worthless small object of use even on demand
And who withhold (legal) alms and other acts of kindness (starting from the Zakat to the lowest form of lending ordinary things of utility like a needle or a piece of thread to a neighbour)
And refuse Al-Maoon (small kindnesses e.g. salt, sugar, water, etc.)
and refuse charity
and deny necessaries to the needy
and withhold necessaries
But refuse help to the needy
and forbid alms-giving
And they withhold from others the casual help.
Yet withhold good.
And refuse assistance.
yet withhold (little) kindnesses
They deny simple aid.
while they hold back common kindnesses.
And prevent even the little aid.
but refuse to give even the smallest help to others
but are depriving the needy.
And prevent good!
but refuse simple acts of kindness
Their malevolence prevents benevolence and proves an occasion of so much discontent
and refuse small kindness.
And they withhold small kindnesses.
But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs
And they deny [the] small kindnesses
